Man carrying machetes arrested near Glasgow school

A 27 year old man has been arrested near a school in Glasgow, for carrying two offensive weapons -machetes-.

There were reports that the man threatened a lollipop man and tried to attack a janitor at the Glasgow School of Art during the incident which happened at 08:30.

A policeman finally mastered him without anybody being hurt.

He was arrested for breach of the peace and carrying weapon in a public area, and a report will be prepared for the procurator fiscal. A witness said that he saw the man wearing a balaclava and running towards St Aloysius College on Hill street. The Inspector Mark Sutherland, of Police Scotland, said:“ I would like to thank the many members of the public who acted quickly to ensure the safety of others.” A Glasgow School of Art spokeswoman said: “The Glasgow School of Art can confirm that a member of our staff did encounter the individual described, whilst parking his car near to a GSA building. The member of staff is shaken, but unharmed.”

Un homme armé de machettes arrêté à Glasgow

Un homme âgé de 27 ans à été arrêté près d'une école à Glasgow, porteurde deux machettes.

Des témoins ont indiqué que l'homme en question aurait menacé un vendeur de bonbons et tenté d'attaquer un agent de service du collège aux alentours de 8 heures et demi du matin.

Un policier a finalement réussi à le maîtriser sans que personne ne soit blessé.

Il a été mis en examen pour port d'armes blanches sur la voie publique etatteinte à lordre public, un rapport a donc été remis au Procureur.

Un témoin a dit avoir vu le suspect portant une cagoule et courant vers le collège de St Aloysius.

L'inspecteur Mark Sutherland, de la police écossaise a déclaré : « Je voudrais remercier les membres du public qui ont agi rapidement afin d'assurer la sécurité des autres. ». La porte-parole du collège a déclaré : « Le membre du personnel a bel et bien rencontré l'individu en question, alors qu'il garait sa voiture dans le parking, près des bâtiments de la GSA. »  Le membre du personnel est bouleversé, mais sain et sauf.

A-level student in jail for helping a friend to join Isis in Syria

    The cousin of the two sisters who fled to Syria to join Islamic State is facing jail for helping his 19-year-old friend to travel to Syria.

Abdullahi Ahmed Jama Farah - an A-level student- created a “hub of communication”from his mother's home in Manchester, for him and his group of like minded extremists to communicate with the Islamic State.

He was found guilty of preparing terrorists acts, following a trial at the Old Bailey. It can now be reported that Jama Farah is linked to Salma and Zhara Halane -“the terrors twins” -, aged 16,  who left home in 2014 to join Isis and are believed to be married with Isis fighers.

When Jama Farah was arrested on March 11, 2014, he told the police he knew the friends through his cousin Halane, the brother of “the terror twins.”“You have been convicted of a serious terrorist crime. Be in no doubt that there will be a sentence of imprisonment, the only question is how long” said the judge Michael Topolski.

Un étudiant condamné pour avoir aidé un ami à rejoindre la Syrie

Le cousin des deux sœurs qui ont fui vers la Syrie pour rejoindre l'Etat islamique a étécondamné à la prison pour avoir aidé son ami, âgé de 19 ans.

Abdullahi Ahmed Jama Farah -L'étudiant a crée un hub de communication depuis la demeure de sa mère a Manchester, pour que lui et son groupe d’amis radicalisés puissent communiquer avec l’État Islamique. Il a été reconnu coupable de préparation d'actes terroristes, après un procès à Old Bailey.

Jama était lié aux «jumelles terroristes» ,Salma et Zhara Halane, âgées de 16 ans, qui ont quitté la Grande Bretagne pour rejoindre l’État Islamique où on suppose qu'elles ont été mariées à des combattants. «Vous avez été condamné pour actes terroristes soyez sûr qu'il y aura une peine avec de la prison, la seule question est combien de temps» a déclaré le juge Michael Topolski.

A prisoner spends more time outside than a child

    In the U.K. a prisoner spends more time outside than a young child.
Three-quarters of UK children spend a lot of time in front of screen and no more in a park or forest… A 7 year-old child will have spent on average one year and a half with a technological device. They are less than 1 hour outside daily according to a survey of a representative sample of 2,000 parents.

The poll reveals that parents blame the government for not creating enough opportunities for the child to play outside. But in fact we are stifling and enclosing them, answer Mark Sears, at The Wild Network. Many doctors warn that active play is very important for the health and development of the child.

    To remedy this problem the government has decided to reconnect children and nature. They plan to hire over 60,000 staff to organize school visits.

Un prisonnier passe plus de temps dehors qu'un enfant

  Au Royaume Uni un prisonnier passe plus de temps à l’extérieur qu'un jeune enfant.
Les trois-quarts des enfants britanniques passent beaucoup plus de temps devant un écran et non dehors dans un parc ou une forêt.
A l'âge de 7 ans, il aura passé déjà près de un an et demi devant un appareil technologique et passent moins d'une heure dehors par jour  d’après un sondage fait auprès d’un échantillon de 2000 parents.
   Le sondage indique que les parents rejettent la faute sur les pouvoirs publics, qui ne créeraient pas assez d’espaces dédiés aux enfants. Mark Sears de l’organisation Wild Network répond que ce sont les parents qui étouffent leurs enfants en les surprotégeant. Les Selon les spécialistes, une activité sportive permet de garder un enfant en bonne santé et permet un meilleur développement physique.
    Pour remédier au problème, l’État a mis en place un projet qui a pour but de reconnecter les enfants et la nature. Le projet devrait permettre de recruter 60.000 personnes pour encadrer des sorties scolaires au cours des années 2017/18.

Glorious again!

From 6th February to 19th March took place the 6 Nations Championship.

The rugby competition opposes England, Wales, Northern Ireland, Italy, Scotland and France and was created more than 100 years ago.

This year England obtained their 37th victory - as many as Wales.

Fifteen matches were played with the final one pitting old rivals France and England. The English won, thus completing a new Grand Slam thirteen years after their 2003 triumph. 

L’Angleterre couronnée

Le Tournoi des Six Nations s’est déroulé entre le 6 février et le 19 mars cette année. Il s’agit d’une compétition de rugby entre l’Angleterre, le Pays de Galles, l’Irlande du Nord, l’Italie, l’Ecosse et la France. Ce tournoi existe depuis déjà plus de cent ans.

Cette année, l’Angleterre a gagné encore une fois, remportant sa 37^e victoire, à égalité avec le Pays de Galles.

Le tournoi s’est déroulé en 15 matches, le dernier opposait la France et l’Angleterre, deux vieux rivaux. 

Suite à ce match, les Anglais ont remporté le Grand Chelem 13 ans après leur triomphe de 2003.

Britain’s archeologists have their own Pompeii

         The British archeologists are saying so openly that they havejust discovered the new Pompeii, the best kept housing of the Bronze Age. The extremely well kept vestiges dating back 3000 years - and a lot of every day life items - are on the site of Must Farm, around Peterborough, in Great Britain. According to David Gibson, a member of the archeological team that was in charge of the excavation, “these five round houses are the best kept of the Bronze Age ever found in Great Britain”.

         Built on pilings over the river in the marshes of Cambridgeshire, they fell apart after taking fire, 1000 years BC. Then they slowly got covered with lime that had protected themsince.

Les archéologues anglais ont désormais leur Pompéi

Les archéologues britanniques affirment avoir mis au jour une « Pompéi », après la découverte d'habitations les mieux conservées de l'âge du Bronze.

Les vestiges extraordinairement bien conservés de bâtiments en bois circulaires d’un village daté de 3000 ans ainsi que de nombreux objets de la vie quotidienne, ont été mis au jour sur le site de Must Farm, près de Peterborough, en Grande-Bretagne. Selon David Gibson, un des responsables des fouilles de l’unité archéologique de l’université de Cambridge, ces maisons rondes, qui seraient au nombre de cinq, « sont les mieux conservées de l’âge du Bronze (2000-800 avant notre ère) jamais trouvées enGrande-Bretagne.»

Construites sur pilotis au-dessus d’une rivière dans les marais du comté de Cambridgeshire, elles se sont effondrées à la suite d’un incendie vers 1000 avant notre ère. Elles ont ensuite été peu à peu recouvertes par des dépôts de limon, ce qui a scellé leur protection pendant des siècles.

A slippery slope at last

The snow is finally here. A 100-miles-long corridor of snow has fallen this weekend from north-west Scotland to south-east England, providing the first flakes of the season.

Now, all the drivers have to prepare their cars for icy conditions. New warnings have been issued, in 3 categories according to the road conditions: red, amber, and yellow. Red is the most severe.

With all that snow, all the ski pistes are open and Glencoe resort said it “should be a cracking weekend for snow sports with light winds and great snow conditions”. All the ski fans didn’t wait before taking their sliding-boards to have fun. However, a 24 year-old man has already got injured this Saturday so have fun moderately on the snow for fear of an accident.

La Grande Bretagne sur une pente glissante

         La neige arrive enfin en Grande Bretagne, formant un couloir de 100 miles (environ 160 km) de long allant du nord ouest de l’Ecosse jusqu’au sud est de l’Angleterre: les premiers flocons de la saison.

         Maintenant, tous les conducteurs doivent préparer leurs voitures aux conditions météorologiques. De nouveaux panneaux de signalisation ont été mis en place, trois couleurs indiquant la gravité de l’état de la route : jaune, orange et rouge pour les conditions de circulation les plus difficiles.

         Avec cette neige, toutes les pistes de ski sont ouvertes : la station de Glencoe annonce que le vent, le soleil et la qualité de la neige sont parfaits pour les sports d’hiver ce weekend. Les fans de sensations glacées n’ont pas attendu pour prendre leurs planches de glisse et aller s’amuser. Cependant un homme de 24 ans s’est déjà blessé ce samedi, alors amusez-vous modérément sur la neige, de peur d’avoir un accident.

Say hello to Baby Dracoraptor
       A few days ago a new kind of dinosaur was identified. Its bone had been discovered in 2014 on a beach near Penarth (Wales) but no one knew what kind of species it was. After years of analysis on the skull and the bone, theUniversity of Portsmouth and of Manchester and the National Museum Wales concluded in a new species they called Dracoraptor Hanigani.
Some 200 million years ago during the Jurassic period, the dracoraptor was a meat-eating animal and belonged to the theropod group. It was a kind of dinosaur who usually had two feet and ate meat but there were also a few flying ones.
       This  Dracoraptor is thought to have been a juvenile animal because part of its bones weren’t fully formed or fused.  Compared to the T-Rex, it was smaller and more agile and no more than 70cm tall and 200cm long with a long tail that helped it keep a good balance.
       Wales then enjoyed a much warmer climate in the coastal region. It was the beginning of the Jurassic so the theropods were at the very beginning of their diversification. It could well be the oldest theropod in the world.
      

       

Bienvenue au Dracoraptor

    Une nouvelle espèce de dinosaures a été identifiée. Ses ossements avaient été retrouvés en 2004 sur la plage de Penarth au Pays de Galles, mais nul ne savait à quelle espèce de dinosaure ils appartenaient.
Après de longues années de recherches, les universités de Portsmouth et de Manchester ainsi que le Musée national du Pays de Galles, on conclu à une nouvelle espèce de dinosaure, le Dracoraptor Hanigani.
    Il aurait vécu il y a 200 millions d'années et est donc considéré comme le plus ancien dinosaure connu. Le Dracoraptor serait un carnivore de la catégorie des théropodes, un type de dinosaure qui se déplaçait sur deux pattes et était principalement carnivore. Le plus connu d'entre eux est le T-Rex. On connait aussi certains théropodes volants.
    Le Dracoraptor retrouvé était probablement un jeune, car certains de ses os n'ont pas entièrement atteint leur taille définitive. En le comparant à son congénère le T-Rex, il était plus petit environ 70cm de long et 200 cm de haut même si sa taille finale pouvait atteindre les 2m, mais ils avaient pour point commun une très longue queue qui leur permettait de garder en permanence leur équilibre.
   Il y a 200 millions d'années le Pays de Galles connaissait un climat beaucoup plus chaud grâce à sa façade maritime. Cela a permis une très grande diversification des espèces. A l’époque, les théropodes n’étaient en qu’au début de leur pleine expansion, on suppose donc que ce Dracoraptor pourrait être l'un des plus vieux dinosaures au monde.
