After Queen Elizabeth II in 2007 and Prince Charles in September, it is now the turn of the future kings and queens of England, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to launch their own YouTube channel simply entitled: "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge".
For the moment nothing remarkable has been posted on their channel, only a 25-second trailer was published yesterday with short excerpts from their future videos.
Contrary to the channels of Queen Elizabeth II or Prince Charles which serve respectively to promote the British monarchy or to "inform and inspire the public on the sustainability of markets", said Prince Charles, the couple’s channel is rather focused on their daily life as Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
In the video, rather unexpected clips appear such as Duchess Kate shearing a sheep or Duke William flying a helicopter but also more "serious" ones like William Promoting the Environment Award or the couple admiring Kate’s photo projects on local billboards.
Although already present on other social networks such as Instagram or Twitter where they have promoted their work or family life with their children, their debut on YouTube marks a turning point in their role as public media personalities.

Après la reine Elisabeth II en 2007 et le prince Charles en septembre, c'est maintenant au tour des futurs roi et reine d'Angleterre, le duc et la duchesse de Cambridge de lancer leur propre chaîne Youtube intitulé tout simplement : "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge".
Pour l'instant rien d'extraordinaire sur leur chaîne, seule une bande-annonce de 25 secondes a été publiée hier dans laquelle on voit des courts extraits de leurs futures vidéos.
Contrairement aux chaînes de la Reine Elisabeth II ou du Prince Charles qui servent respectivement à promouvoir la monarchie britannique ou à "informer et inspirer le public sur la durabilité des marchés" a dit le prince Charles, la chaîne du couple est plutôt axée sur leur vie quotidienne en tant que duc et duchesse de Cambridge.
Dans la vidéo, on peut voir des extraits plutôt inattendus tels que la duchesse Kate en train de tondre un mouton ou le duc William en train de piloter un hélicoptère mais aussi des extraits plus "sérieux" comme William faisant la promotion du Prix de l'Environnement ou encore le couple admirant les projets photo de Kate sur les panneaux publicitaires locaux.
Bien que déjà présent sur d'autres réseaux sociaux comme Instagram ou Twitter où ils faisaient la promotion de leur travail ou de leur vie de famille avec leurs enfants, leurs débuts sur Youtube marquent un important tournant dans leur rôle de personnalités médiatiques.
