Murder in the classroom

November 3, 2014

Will Cornick, a 16-year-old boy (aged 15 years when he committed his murder) stabbed his Spanish teacher Ann Maguire (61 years) seven times in the back and neck at Corpus Christi Catholic College in Leeds on April 28. He was given a life sentence.
On April 28 at the Catholic College Corpus Christi in Leeds, Will Cornick killed his Spanish teacher in cold blood in front of hisclassmates after winking at a friend in the classroom. Mrs. Maguire tried to escape but she was chased by Cornick.
Some students said they had noticed a disturbing aspect of Cornick's personality. Cornick said to the students that he hated Mrs. Maguire and he had already written on his facebook page: "deserves more than death, more than pain and more than anything that we can understand", he also confided to a friend about "brutally killing' Mrs. Maguire and spending the rest of his life in jail so as not to have to worry about life or money."
The prosecutor Paul Greaney said that the boy had "psychopathic tendencies" and he was interested by the art of assassination.
After the murder Cornick sat down as if nothing had happened, he said to his class "good times" and spoke of an adrenaline rush, he also added that "it was a pity she was not dead".
The assassin also said that after the killing he had a "sense of pride", "in my eyes, everything I've done is fine and dandy."
According to the prosecutor "the parents are decent people and responsible parents", "they are at a loss to understand how and why their son has turned out as he has and they have co-operated fully with the police and with the prosecution".
Will Cornick was sentenced to 20 years in jail minimum, but it is very likely that Cornick will never be released.

England has found a leader

England has found a leader

The English football team, which won their first three matches to qualify for the French Euro in 2016, are in full confidence after winning their first matches against Switzerland 2-0, Saint-Marin 5-0 and Estonia 1-0. They top their group although they have not yet managed to play an attractive football or even to play as a team and some players are clearly underperforming. Yet, their new captain, Wayne Rooney is here to motivate them or sometimes shout at them … he has emerged as a leader even though he has been looking for his bearings since the beginning of the season with his club as well as with the national team even he has scored a few goals.
After the overwhelming victory of the English team against Saint-Marin, Wilshere confided in an interview that Rooney was a father figure "He's the only one now who has been playing for England for 10 years," said Wilshere. "He's been through that generation with the likes of Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard. He really feels like he's the dad figure if you like. He puts his arm around us, brings us together, and gets us going. Even when Steven Gerrard was captain he was, and is, a big voice in the dressing room. He gets everyone going, he encourages us and he's not scared to tell you when you are doing wrong, which is nice.” And many other  compliments.
Wayne Rooney who is the new captain of the national team scored two goals in three matches. Against Estonia he played his 99th selection and scored a beautiful goal on a free kick of a distance of 23.2meters. Wayne Rooney delivered his team in the 73min even he missed lots of occasions in the first half and found his real level. His coach Roy Hodgson said after the match in the press conference “Yes, Wayne is a remarkable person and player and I’m happy that he scored a goal today. Yes, of course that Rooney can score a little be more goals, sure.” Wayne scored his 43rd goals in national team. He needs to score 6 goals to equal the record of goals in national team where it is 49 goals which is held by Sir Bobby Charlton with 49 goals.

IS threat may require Syria intervention

26 September 2014

David Cameron said that it is quite possible for UK military intervention in Syria and Iraq to fight against the Islamic State (IS).
The Prime Minister said that it is an obligation for the United Kingdom to join the bombings in Iraq against IS and that there was no legal barrier for a similar action in Syria. Yet, his official spokesman specified that the troops would only be used to guide air strikes by RAF and not for a combat role.
The MPs (Members of Parliament) voted by 524 against 43 to take part in action in Iraq.
Mr. Cameron and the MPs think that the UK could do more in Syria to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe and protect neighboring Iraq from attacks being launched from Syria.
Until now, Downing Street -where the Prime Minister resides- said there would be no action in Syria without the Commons vote unless there is an urgent humanitarian need.
IS has captured a big part of Syria and in Iraq over the last few monthsThey have used tactics like the beheadings of soldiers, journalists and aid workers.
David Cameron said: “This is not the stuff of fantasy. It is happening in front of us and we need to face up to it” he also said that “terroristorganisation was a clear and proven threat to UK lives” and that the mission against terrorist will take “not just months but years”.
On Thursday 25, it was reported that about 250 people demonstrated outside 10 Downing Street against any possibility of taking military action in Iraq.
Some MPs hesitate on the idea of intervening in Iraq in case they don’t find a successful exit strategy.
Six RAF Tornadoes in Cyprus are ready to fire soon after Parliament gives the green light. The Tornadoes have already been flying reconnaissance missions over Iraq and will have identified potential targets.
The fight against IS will take time, and the longer it goes on, IS will adapt its strategy and air strikes will be less effective.
Up to now IS holds British hostages like John Cantlie and Alan Henning threatened with death.
